|# KEEPCREATING

Participating in aquascaping contest is one of the important factors that keep me going all these years. It is not about winning in the competition but the opportunity to show the world my creation year after year is driving me forward to keep creating.

|# ELEMENTS

I like to collect my rocks at a local river/waterfall because the rocks have very beautiful textures, colors and shapes that are suitable for my style of aquascaping. As for wood, I usually buy my wood from a local wood distributor that has a large selection of Malaysian drift wood.

Remove any thing that is not in good condition; if there is problem we should solve it early instead of letting the problem worsen. Observe the plants and try to understand what they are trying telling us in terms of: lighting, nutrient, water flow, water condition. If we care for the tank, it will reward us with its beauty. Always keep the space clean and dry especially if there are young kids in the house. Keep in mind that the space around the aquarium is not only for myself but also other family members in the house. Although it is a personal hobby, I always try to keep it comfortable, convenient and safe for all the members in the family.

|# INSPIRATIONS

Ideas can come from anything and everything that is around our daily life. It can be something we found from the nature, a scene from a movie, a picture we found on the internet, a person that inspires us, a special event that we want to remember and so on. As long as we open our heart to feel and to appreciate every little things in our daily life, it can be turned into an aquascaping idea.

|# LIFECHANGING I would not say that aquascaping has changed my thinking or myself as a person, but it definitely changes my life. Before I started aquascaping, my life was pretty standard like everybody else, centering around my work and my family. I only have friends whom I knew from my daily life. I would not say that aquascaping has changed my thinking or myself as a person, but it definitely changes my life. Before I started aquascaping, my life was pretty standard like everybody else, centering around my work and my family. I only have friends whom I knew from my daily life. Now, I would say that aquascaping has taken an important part of my life and it has changed my life greatly. I have known friends from all over the world; I get the opportunity to travel to many places where I would probably never thought of going otherwise, getting to experience different cultures and learn from many aquascaping peers from different part of the world. The negative side of this change is, my time with family has been affected. This is something that I still need to find a balancing point.

|# ONFCORNER

There are 2 ONF Corners in my house. One is in my living room where my main aquascaping tank is located, this is where I spend most of my time at night with my family. It is important that I put my main aquascaping contest tank at this prominent place in the house because I can monitor the progress of the tank easily everyday. The second ONF Corner is in my “fish room”, this is where I keep most of my aquascaping books, trophies, some tanks and other aquascaping related stuffs. This is my private corners where I like to spend some quality me-time to read books, sketch my aquascaping ideas or study the plants behavior, as much as you want at any time.
