Samuel Pachschwoell, a passionate aquascaper from Austria, began aquascaping in the summer of 2018. As a child, he kept aquariums for a year or two, and a few years later, he rediscovered the beauty of aquatic life through YouTube.
He came across ONF through videos by Aquaowner, and in early 2020, he began using the ONF Flat One Pendant 90. At the time, he described it as the most beautiful aquarium light he had ever used and was highly satisfied with both its performance and design.
Having a small ecosystem and a piece of nature at home is what fascinates me the most about aquascaping.
My inspiration comes from other aquascapers, nature, and especially my favorite local aquascaping store, Liquid Nature.
Aquascaping has taught me to pay more attention to details and helped me become more sensitive to environmental aspects. I spend a few hours each day on this hobby, which has not only brought me calm and focus but also helped me connect with many new friends around the world.
Back when I first created this layout, I spent around 20–25 hours a week on it. Even though the aquascape wasn’t fully matured yet, I was already very satisfied with how it looked.
This article was originally recorded in 2020, when Samuel was still in his early twenties. Since then, he has continued to evolve as an aquascaper, sharing more of his refined creations with the community. His love for nature and clean design continues to shine through every aquascape he builds.
